Canggu Accommodation: Where to stay in Bali!

Canggu Accomodation villa

Where should I stay when I come to Bali? This is the question I get asked the most! That’s why I decided to put a list together for you guys. You can read about which Canggu Accommodation I stayed when I first came to Bali and what friends recommended to me.

Some of the AWESOME places I stayed..

This place is basically brand new having only opened in June 2017.

If you are on a budget but still want a nice place to stay, this is the place to go!

Check out the LOW prices here!

Mojo has shared rooms with bunk beds AND great double rooms if you need privacy – as I do! 🙂

What I love most about this is place is that it is walking distance to the beach.

If you are into surfing this place is even better for you because they offer surf packages and it is also walking distance to the practice – the yoga place I really like in Canggu.

Definitely consider this place if you are coming to Canggu!

Rama Village

This is where I stayed longest in Canggu, and for good reason..

I love Rama Village.

For its location (right in the heart of Canggu), for the pool and most of all for the great people who own this accommodation!

the price isn’t bad either.. take a look here! 🙂

It was my home during my first month in Bali and whenever I needed a short-term stay in Canggu. It is close to Canggu beach and also to all the healthy cafes and yoga places.

If you don’t feel comfortable driving a motorbike, this place is ideal. Why?! Because there are loads of really cool places to check out that are within walking distance (although don’t forget how hot it is in Bali!)

Once you are there Putu and her staff will help you with everything else you need.

Voyager Boutique Creative Retreat Bali

Only a hundred meter away from Rama Village is this cute Canggu Accommodation.

I stayed there one week when Rama Village was fully booked and had a wonderful time.

The rooms are amazing (Take a look here!), but nothing beats the smashed avocado on toast in the morning.

This is also a place to stay in Bali when you don’t like driving around too much and would like to be in the center of the action. Voyager also organizes outdoor movie nights and other happenings. Fun times.

The Apartments Canggu

A Canggu accommodation for those who want to stay in a villa, but couldn’t find anything cool from private owners.

You can choose between different villa-styled rooms with your own kitchen. Some of the rooms even have a private pool and the others have a shared pool.

The apartments are located near Echo Beach in a quiet road next to Batu Bolong (which is the main road). This means this accommodation is still in the center of Canggu.

I just fell in love with the interior design – it is a mix between Bali and boho.

Another cool place that gets my approval and is well worth considering – check out the room rates here!

Canggu Accommodations my friends stayed at and recommend.

Since I haven’t stayed in the following accommodations I haven’t seen then rooms, but only heard good things about them.

Tugu Hotel Canggu

On my bucket list! (Take a look at these pics and you’ll understand why!) In short it’s a luxury hotel right on the beach in Canggu. (next to Old mans)

Calm Tree Bungalows

Also in a great location: only about 800 meters to walk to Canggu beach (Old mans), while Echo beach surf spot is a 3-minutes bike ride away.

FRII Hotel

Right near Echo beach. A cool spot for meeting other people. They even offer a free shuttle to Seminyak if you need more hustle and bustle.

All these hotels are on side of the short cut road. What is the short cut road? Read in my blog post about this popular road in Canggu. There is now even an Instagram account that posts about the funniest pictures from people who fell into the rice fields 🙂

What to consider when choosing your Canggu Accommodation:

  • Location: When you choose where to stay in Bali make sure that you are located in the center of Canggu especially if you are a woman, traveling alone. Driving home alone on your scooter can be dangerous. Check out my map above.
  • Does your Canggu Accommodation offer any additional services? It’s always helpful if someone can organize a scooter for you.
  • Is transport from the airport included? If not make sure you don’t pay more than IDR 250k each way

So peaceful, so quite, so private…
I can imagine that once being on Bali, these kind of Resorts are the best way to enjoy a relaxing and luxury stay. Rama Village looks really amazing to me.

Your tips on what to consider when selecting the accommodation are really helpful. I will come back to this post when I plan my trip to Bali. However, I also liked that pool very much 🙂

We were thinking about staying at Rama last time we were in Bali. Too bad we didn’t. It sounds lovely. If you stayed there a whole month, it must be so comfortable and livable. We’ll check it our next time were in Canggu.

Hey Rachel thanks so much for your lovely words. Yes there are a tone of Facebook groups out there like “canggu housing” etc. You can also just post in canggu community or go with an agent there are many website. Usually you don’t get the best price with an agent but mostly a nicer one 🙂 I highly suggest being on place before you agree to anything. Hope that helps 🙂
